We submitted our EOI yesterday, 105 points with job offer.

We know we need police checks and medicals, are we wiser getting them done now instead of waiting for them to tell us to do them to save time( we are hoping to be there in October!)

If so, how do we go about medicals, just call a hospital, or are there certain forms etc we need to send off?

Thanks

Personally, I'd hold fire on both until you've at least been Selected from the pool...

Police Checks - ACPO turn them around within 2 weeks (or quicker for an extra charge).

Medicals - Normally 2 weeks for an appointment and the same again to receive results.

To find your nearest panel doctor click here (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/templates/Content/ListsPopup.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2fmigrant%2fstream%2flive%2fpartner %2fLinkAdministration%2fToolboxLinks%2fPanelDoctor s%2ehtm%3flevel%3d1&NRNODEGUID=%7bF7FB077A-5649-4CAB-9B9E-4DA8B945AFA5%7d&NRCACHEHINT=Guest&level=1)... simply add relevant details (country, town) into the 'search' facility to narrow things down.

Good luck :nice1

Hi Walshy,

Yes, I think you should wait. There's is high probability of selecting your EOI during the next fortnight selection. Once it's selected you have at least 3 weeks to get ready with your medicals and other stuff, till you get the ITA.

The doctor, from whom you are getting the medical certificate, has to be medical practitioner approved by the NZ Immigration, aka Panel Doctors. You can find the list of panel doctors here:

Cheers!
