Does anyone know of /or have used - a hotel/motel when they have first arrived thats any good?

we're currently in apartments by www.luxy.co.nz . our is in the cbd with broadband internet, free local phone, a kitchen and laundry as well as free car parking. they have some winter specials so we're payinbg $739 for a one bed. it's quite well equiped and nicely done out.
