Hi all.....

Can you help? I'm claiming points for my qualification, DipHE Nursing...the ITA says:

If you are claiming points for your qualification(s) you must provide:

a) The qualification(s) for which you are claiming points; and
b) An NZQA Preassessment Result (Preliminary Assessment Report) or NZQA Qualifications Assessment Report (unless your qualification(s) is included in the List of Recognised Qualifications (NZIS 1080)); or
c) Your certificate of registration if you are claiming points for your qualification(s) on the basis of full or provisional registration in New Zealand.

What did others include? Obviously I have my NZNC Registration Certificate which I shall include (c/o part c). I'm kinda stuck on part a) though. Do they want a copy of my transcript? My original certificate? A letter to say what I did and where?

The reason I ask is because I've just found out that my qualification was never 'conferred' which basically just means that although I passed, I never had the certificate 'awarded' to me as such! The school of nursing are going to confer it in my absence at the next graduation in a couple of weeks so I will get it.....eventually! Is this going to cause a problem??

Also, surely if I have been registered and practising as a nurse for the last 12 years, is this not evidence enough that I qualified/passed????

Panic is setting in now that I haven't got all the documentation that I need to submit...:wah...HELP PWEEEEEEEEEZE???

Sorry for the long post.......

Sue

Hi,
My understanding is that if you have you NZNC registration, then you don't need to prove any qualifications as the NZNC would not have registered you without them...
Once your ITA is submitted, if they need any extra proof then they will tell you. Hopefully by that time the college can send you a copy of the cert as an extra document of proof.
Hope this helps. :nice1

I was lucky - as I qualified 2 years ago I had my certificate so sent this in. As Mrs B says - if NZNC have registered you then they must have proof of your qualification. Do you have a case officer? Mine had signed the letter that came with my ITA so I used to email her with things like this.

:cheers Thanx Mrs B and nickydwuk....yes I do have a CO, will email her.

A chap from the School of Nursing is going to send me a 'To Whom It May Concern' letter just to say what course I did, how long for, where at and that I passed so that should do it for now! I've also got a letter from the NMC expressing that they have sent verification of my qualification to NZNC so that's a little extra. As you say Mrs B, hopefully I should have my certificate by the time they decide they want further documentation!

Thanx again for your reassurance.....

Sue

As you can see, I'm still waiting for my nursing registration. They tell me that they've got a new member of staff and it's his fault!!
Firstly they sent me a letter telling me that a reference wasn't signed so it couldn't be accepted..... it wasn't even from any of my referees, wrong person, wrong letter.
Then they lost a reference which had to be resent. I then telephoned them for a 3rd time and was reassured that all was in order and it should take about 2 weeks to process. I got another letter from the team leader to say that they wouldn't accept a gp's signature as the person that can sign statutory declarations!!!!
So I had to resubmit it all after going to a solicitor, another delay.
We watch and wait.....:roll

Hi guys . Hang in there with the NZNC. It took them 12 weeks to process me and that was with me contatcting them at least weekly!! I got copies of everything I sent as I was warned that there would be something missing when it went to 1st assessment and guess wht there was!!
I have been told once you are registered with them you don't have to re register but just have to have an up to date practicing certificate which I got in less than a week once i was here and had taken the forms into Willis Street personally.

Good luck
