The beauty of owning nothing but owing nothing - the credit crunch just hasn't effected us. We're in a pretty unique position though, I'd guess.

have started to trade on money exchanges. tax free so thats cool and am starting new business distributing smoothies next month. its all a vicious circle cos if I could sell my house I wouldnt have go go through the aggro as could then go to nz, get a job in senior risk management(90-110k) which would give me 170 points and then relax for a bit!

Like CJ22, I'm in the happy position of owning and owning nothing. I used to think not having a house was a curse, but now I couldn't be happier that we never scrambled onto the bottom of the ladder.

I feel quite lucky to have sold my house, though we didn't sell it when we wanted to and thus are going later that we had planned. BUT we are still going.
We didn't get as much for it as we could have if we had sold a year ago or so, but we still made some money. Enough to move and hopefully get settled in a rental while we find jobs.

We are struggling to sell the house, but we will go to NZ, activate visa's, come back and try to sit the current downturn out.
We have just put plans back by 1 year - not the end of the world, plenty of happy to be had wherever you are.

We are still going - lost our buyer almost 10 weeks ago and not a viewing since - we would be enjoying our first weekend in NZ now if it had gone through but like others, it isn't stopping us moving, just delaying us.

Yes, has affected selling our house - well, not selling to be exact.
But, will try to rent it instead and change plans a little so we still go in september.

We were lucky enough to sell our house last year. We will be leaving Texas in September
all going well.
Still waiting for approval of my husband's application for PR (Partnership Policy). We have been waiting 3 months so far...hoping to hear soon as airfares keep rising so we need to book our tickets fairly soon.

Hi Becky...We have searched Air New Zealand website for the web special deal you mentioned and we cannot find it. Could you please send us the site you found this deal on.
Thanks,

Have PM'd you.
It's a bit of a backwards solution, and doesn't work quite as well for one way :no

we're gradually offloading vehicles.. as soon as the new car tax laws come in, some vehicles will drop in price massively, but then you cant really sell a guzzler in the current climate anyway.

It did not affect me because I only own one old car and nothing else. Only debt is student loan.
