What are the odds?

What are the odds of being denied your PR or even getting your ITA?

What type of things would get you denied?

oh I think I remember this being discussed several months ago - not sure what the ods are, but if you look at the selection information on th NZIS forum you should be able to work out roughly what the chances are from the number of submissions to the number of selected.

I think the main areas that people are turned down for are medical ones, with points being miscalculated, not speaking English to a high enough standard and jobs not being regarded as appropriate for PR purposes being in the mix too.

In general if you have enough points to qualify for selection and can prove those points, plus have no medical problems then you should be alright ;)

Yeah, I think that about covers it. Also if they don't think you will settle well they may offer you WTR instead of PR. I'm not sure the reasons that they may think that but I know some people on the forum have been offered WTR instead of PR.

They now do more checks upfront before issuing the ITA, and your chances of not getting PR after receiving your ITA are apparently 2.5% or thereabouts. I read somewhere else that 97.5% of ITAs submitted get granted PR. I think that's the figure. If it's not exact, it's very close to that.

I'm just really starting to get worried about it... I mean i know it will be a while before we hear anything but UGH! It's going to drive me bonkers! We just REALLY want to get over there and the waiting is letting my mind wonder...

I'm afraid thats something you're going to have to get used to!
This place really comes in handy once the frustration really kicks in :D

oh its a daily thing... Brandon hates it here more and more everyday...hating his job isn't helping either... and more and more we want to get the heck out of here... New Zealand is consuming us! We're going to be devastated if we don't get in... We desperately need a change in lifestyle... It's just not working for us here anymore... :(

Hi Guys,
I have the same feelings. Since I have to translate all my documents from Russian into English, I'm warried about making mistakes. This might be treated as misleading information by NZQA, and what's more dramatic is that my institutions were renamed several times. Although my qualifications in the recognized list, I must make an assessment :o

I feel the same way. England is starting to feel like a prison. Can't do this, mustn't do that, get your forehead bar-coded here, smile for the cameras there. Amazingly, Comrade Brown is even worse than Parson Blair! Today we had "no more two-for-one offers because it encourages the wasting of food" as if I personally can't be trusted to look after my own dietary needs! The relentless nanny-culture we're developing is really starting to chafe. Give me somewhere where the state doesn't think it can get involved in every little facet of my life! And don't even mention the weather...

totally agree CJ. what the hell has happened that leads the prime minister to consider part of his role is to pontificate on our food habits?!
maybe this is his perception of action following his "listening and learning" period

not so much banning it as telling us all how utterly stupid and incompetent we all are at managing our own grocery shopping!

Gets right up my nose, too. WHO the HECK do these (imho, she said carefully!) idiots think they are?

Actually I kinda agree with Corporal Brown, we do have a lot of people who don't know how to "run" their life properly.

Actually I kinda agree with Corporal Brown, we do have a lot of people who don't know how to "run" their life properly.Well, they should tell THEM, then, not the rest of us who do! They'll be sending round official nose-wipers next.
