Was away last week and Ricky my CO sent me a mail on Tuesday (wouldnt you just believe it) asking for my letter to be sent again electronically saying that to do so would speed up the process did that yesterday. I have a feeling my file is being sent electronically to Wellington again we wait. :wah

So far ours has been with them 5 weeks, this after having it to delay sending the additional information by 3 weeks waiting for Liz doctor to write one paragraph!
Emailed them last week and they said that some assessments are due back this week but they have no idea whether ours will be one of them.

Mine once took 1 week, ONLY because my VO called the intermediary group (that talks to the Medical Accessories) like 2x during the week in question.
It turned out that the medical accessors had no reason to be concerned because the 'recently turned young guy into M.D.' doctor made a major mistake on my NZ form 1007. The senior doctor on staff was alerted to this error (by me of course!!) and wrote a letter on medical centre letterhead stating "there is no reason NZIS should have any doubts on my health for my pending migration to NZ." Her staff receptionist faxed that letter to my VO in Los Angeles and he then sprung into action.
In other words, he pushed this into the system so very fast because this round with the Medical Accessors was unneeded the entire time. He (my VO) would have approved my 2.5 year WTR visa from start if he would have seen this letter. :nice1
Generally speaking, yes expect 3-4 weeks for your VO to get back to you.
Remember, there are only like 6 doctors that work for NZIS as Medical Accessors. They are indeed overworked! :no

Hey everyone -
I see some of you are waiting now 6 weeks for your info to come back? Gosh that's a long time. I wanted to say that the NZIS Medical Assessors are few in numbers (as on only 6 doctors working for NZIS). There also is a nasty flu going around Wellington now. Perhaps 1 or 2 of them are home sick? I know I missed 2 of my work days last week :-(
Good luck everyone!

Quick question, when I log on to NZ website, dates have not changed since we submitted our ITA in March. Just shows date submitted ITA (pending) and date submitted medicals
Is this normal?

Success. "The man said.... OK" :cheers
From our VO..... "Just to let you know medical is back and been confirmed as an acceptable standard of health. I have recommended a decision on the application and it is now with a colleague to be double checked."
Good luck to all the rest of you waiting for feedback from the MA. We should be overjoyed (the kids are), but after this manic rollercoaster we feel rather shell shocked.

Yip, London.
It may be of some comfort to you guys to know that my Gamma GT for the blood tests was 239 (normal range 5 - 80 if I remember correctly). The reading is screwed up by the statins I take to control cholesterol :roll Not sure what is going on, as I had a routine check in Feb and it was only 146! I had a US scan on my liver which showed all was OK and reports from Cardiologist saying all the plumbing is currently ok.

Wow just checked my email and the MA has said Liz has an ‘acceptable standard of health for residence in New Zealand’, so I guess I’m going to have to take her with me after all. :D
Now need to arrange a telephone interview to ‘assess your ability to contribute and settle well in New Zealand.’ Oh well at least it’s a new thing to start worrying about. :yes

Can't help on the SGPT levels but timewise it took London 7 weeks to get back to us, if you have a job offer let them know as this should speed things up.
Good Luck

Hang in there,
The wait will be over soon. Our application went in 2 months ago we are still waiting to hear whether our daughter will get a medical waiver, but the issue hasn't even been raised yet.it could take another 2 months for the issue to be raised then upto 4 months for the appeal.I've tried to put NZ to the back of my mind but its hard,I can totally understand your frustrations.
Good Luck
Helen
