We are in a unique position as I have citizenship for both Australia and Canada, which gives us the opportunity to live in either place or NZ (we currently live in Oregon, USA). My dad lives in rural Nova Scotia (which is incredibly beautiful!) and we have spent quite a bit of time there. We are leaning toward a return to NZ (we had an unsuccessful move to NZ a couple of years ago) over Nova Scotia as we have three daughters and feel that there may be more opportunities for them in NZ, both educationally and in the way of an active outdoor lifestyle. My OH and I have always dreamed of owning a citrus orchard too, which rules out Nova Scotia.

I do recognize that NS is a small province and differs significantly to what life might be like in a place like Vancouver or Toronto.

Hello and welcome! Nova scotia is similar in size, population, ethnicity, and latitude to the South Island. Interesting.
