Hello all!

I have a job offer in Wellington and it looks like I can apply under the Talent Work Policy or the General Work Policy. I want to eventually get a PR so I know that the General Work Policy might not be the best since this doesn't lead to PR. However the Talent Work Policy doesn't allow me to work for anyone else besides my employer for 2 years. Can I come in on a General Work Policy and then move to PR another way?

Does anyone know if INZ has a preference for either policy?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would say that INZ would prefer you to apply on a General Work visa/permit as this has less 'rules' for them to check against so it can be processed quicker.

Is there any particular reason that you want to be able to change employer?

Are you able to apply for PR now (do you have enough points?) if you do, then you can apply at any time even on a WTR, so for example you could arrive on a WTR, apply for PR straight away and once approved change jobs if needed (you don't need to wait for 2 years if you have enough points).
