I'm trying to figure out when our RRVs expire so I don't need to reapply as I don't want to risk losing it after all it took to get here...

Is it 2 yrs from the date the Residence Visa is placed in the passport? For us, that would've been May 2007.

Or 2 yrs from the date of first entry on that Residence Visa? Which would've been Nov 2007.

....and did I hear that if you've traveled to NZ on your newly acquired visa, that you must travel again within ONE YEAR on your RRV to keep it active or it expires??

Clarification, please!!

It runs from the time you first entered the country, so Nov 07 for you.

I have never heard of them expiring if they dont get used within a year, in fact DH didnt use his RRV for over a year and no probs.

We were a year over due in getting our IRRV's sorted and had no problems.

Not heard of the one year and you must travel rule, we didn't do that either.

I thought it was up to 2 years Sal?? Maybe mistaken, but once that one "expires" it is easy enough to get another one, but this time IRRV.

Stevie, when I said 1 year I meant that was the time that our passports (and visas) remained unused after we had arrived in the country in the first place ;)
