First off, they have these right?:exit
Secondly, what power standard are they on? Could we get one in the US and use it in NZ or would we be better off getting one there (when we get a charger for our cellphone that is NZ compatible).

You're in luck, they do.
Buy one for your phone anywhere in the world you like, they're all 12 volt input voltage. So will thus, charge your phone when plugged into in any automobile the world over. That said if I was you I would buy/bring one from the US as its possible but unlikely that your model of phone is not available in NZ.

Bring your charger. They are expensive here compared to USA.

Also, read the requirements on your home cell phone charger. It's probably reads something like "100-240v/50-60Hz". If that's the case, just get a plug adapter for it.

Same with the rest of your little charger doohickies. Many of them just need an adapter.

As far as I know car electrics and the cigarette lighter socket that car chargers use are the same the world over. So bring one with you or buy one here, whichever is easier.

But should you find yourself in a 44 ton truck then you'll need a dropper, as trucks run on 24v. Just thought i would throw that one in as you never know. In fact some 3 tonners run on the 24v system too.
