Hi,
I'm thinking of joining Air NZ's Koru Club. OH isn't letting me upgrade to business class (boo hiss) but seems OK with this membership as a compromise. Is anyone a member that can advise on the following:
* I only plan to add me as a member and use 'guest passes' to get the OH into the airport lounges with me. How many guest passes do you get when you join?
* Would it be a problem me using the business class check-in and OH not being a member (but having a guest pass obviously) ?
* Do you get given 'fast track' cards as you would normally do using the business class check-in?
Thanks

Our relatives took us to the Auckland Koru Lounge last year as we were flying out together and they told us each can take one guest.
I have never been to any lounge before and was very impressed with all the nice food and drinks and the nice, quiet atmosphere.:yes

You can use the premium check in, provided one of you have either a Koru membership or travelling in a premium class (ie Premium Economy of Business Premier) :yes I'm not sure about the fast track cards though, I know flight attendents hand them to passengers in upper classes on the plane though.
Seems like a good compromise, considering you get a free Airpoints membership with a Koru card, if you weren't an Airpoints member already ;)

Thanks Jen,
I'll give them a call today. Just wanted some first hand experience. I wasn't sure how picky they'd be with just one of us having the membership but both using the premium check-in.
Mel: Fast Track cards get you through security mucho quicker :nice1

We got one of those when OH and I went back to Europe last year...didn't serve me much good cos the Euro passport line in London was empty but did help OH as the other passports queue was really long :exit

I phone ANZ to check on this because we are flying out this weekend, and I am in premium class but OH not, and was told if not busy he can check in i premium class but if busy they will not take him. (however in my experience its never very busy at the premium check in)

Just spoken to Air NZ....
* Yes, you're guest can use the premium check-in counters
* You get 10 x guest passes when you join for 1 year
* Yes, you should get fast track passes
Just joined....sweeeeeeet ;)
I think this is a very good option for those whose baulk at the price of business class, but still like some extra comfort. Pacific Premium & Koru Club Membership is the way to go.
