After not a week of searching we found a rental and are moving in on Thursday!!:raebanana
I will say that I am very happy that it has one tap in the kitchen sink (two in the bathroom- so I'll be washing my hands in the kitchen), and a lemon tree in the backyard.
It's pretty ugly, but so were most places that we looked at, but it's close to the vege market, the grocers, the video store, and the bus line to school.
We also purchased a bedroom set, so we'll have a place to rest our heads and put our clothes.
Now to buy all the other things we need...

Well done :clap
A convenient location is something NOT to be compromised on, especially with a rental.
Now it's time to shop 'til you drop...if I remember correctly you just shipped about a dozen boxes so will have lots to buy?

Congrats on finding somewhere so quickly! Don't forget good ole Trademe when looking to buy stuff and the likes of Big Save, Harvey Norman etc are forever having sales so keep an eye out.
Enjoy setting up home!

PS: How long before you send for your cat?

I don't recall seeing any but they do seem to have a lot of Garage Sales, there are always lots advertised in our local freebie newspaper. Trademe seems to be popular with everyone in NZ also.
Dilanium - so chuffed that all is in place for your feline friend to join you after all the hassle you went through. I hope your rental has a cat flap! ;)

They have car boot sales at my daughters school about once a month and one at one of the local church halls quite frequently, but they don't seem ti really advertise them here...so there must be some around your area :yes

Don't forget to ask for cash discounts, even in the major stores, especially if you are buying more than one expensive item (e.g. TV and DVD recorder)
