Thanks guys for your answers to my previous questions. They were very lucid. I just have two more and I think I'll have everything covered [Guess everyone says that, only to be back with more :p]

Ok here goes...

Q1. I first met my wife on 22nd Feb this year and we were married on 23rd May. We have a marriage certificate to prove our marriage. We are unable to prove that we lived together prior to our marriage because we simply didnt. The question is, will our marriage certificate be sufficient or do we have to live together for a year to include her as an applicant?

2. I have IT work experience of over 8 years and I've worked for 4 companies including my current employer, and the last 3 are in the city I am living in presently, and I continue to have contacts with colleagues/HR from these 3 companies, so, references and further verification from the last 3 companies isnt a problem. I have the appointment letter and the relieving letter from my 1st company but it doesnt include a job description; It is in a different city and I have no contacts with anybody there. That being the case, should I include work experience from this 1st company and try to get an additional 10 points and yet risk my application going back to the pool if the immigration officer handling my cases refuses to acknowledge the experience from my 1st company? My total points including the 1st company's experience is 150 and without it, is 140 points. I am aware 140 points or more automatically qualifies for the ITA, but like somone suggested on this forum, the additional 10 points could serve as a buffer. What do you reckon?

1. They don't care if you're married or not, you need to be able to prove a *relationship* for 1+ years, so start digging out those old photos, get signed affadavits from friends, invitations addressed to both of you, etc. etc.

2. Do you have a degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science? If so, that will buffer your application more. To be honest, I would just explain in a text entry field, the situation and let them take it from there. :)

Good luck! :nice1

But if they only met on 22nd Feb this year then they couldn't have been together for more than 12 months could they :exit

As far as I am aware, you will have to have been together for a year, married or not doesn't matter, the marriage certificate itself will not be sufficient.

I suspect if you only met in February, it could be tricky, but the closer you get to the one year, the better, before you submit your EOI.

Good luck,

Hi Nanskris

On Q2 why don't you just send a letter to the company explaining your situation, and ask for a proof of employment?

I did this with 2 of my previous companies, and even though I had no contacts in these companies anymore they all sent me a proof of employment letter. No harm in trying...

Q1 is more tricky. As stated by others you need to prove a stable relationship with your partner of at least 1 year. No way around this I'm afraid.

Good luck

For Q1 I would provide evidence from Feb 23rd and keep getting and keeping evidence as NZIS will ask for more. It may be that by the time NZIS asks you to submit more evidence enough time will have passed.
