As we are getting closer now to actualy arrival we have started looking for and area to live. I guess we won't be too sure until we have been there for a few months (planning to rent at first). As we have a large family and like a less suburban location we have been looking around and have come across a few nice looking properties in the Stanmore Bay area.

Can any one tell me if this is:

1: A Good/nice area to live.

2: Commutable to the CBD

We live in Orewa which is near Stanmore Bay, and my husband works in the CBD, but he starts work at 2pm. If he had to start work at 9am then he wouldn't do it due to the heavy traffic in the morning. It's a half hour journey from here to the CBD during the day, but in the morning it will take about an hour longer.
