OK brace yourselves this is a real numpty question.

This colleague of OH has a job offer needs a WTR he can run concurrently with a PR application. Numpty question is how do you initiate a WTR visa.
The PR bit I can help him with but completely confuzzlled with the WTR.
Is there a form on web or do you need to go there, actually he may be able to go up to London.

OK found the form finally.
Does the point system operate for WTR or is a job offer and years of experience in right area (also on long term shortage but no formal Quals) enough?
Does OH do same form to get work visa.

PS I am nagging him to join forum nag, nag, nag..... :D

WTR visas don't have a point system. You just have to have a valid full time PERM job offer and pass the looooooong NZ medical form 1007 to get approved for your 2.5 year WTR visa. If you time it right, you can use the same medical to get your PR and WTR visa.

If you put your spouse/partner on your WTR visa application, no they don't have to get a visa on their own, BUT they will have to pass the police check and medical checks like you will have to.

Form 1007s are only valid for 90 days once they are done.

cheers,
John

Hi Mels

It's not just the medical and police check needed for the WTR visa. There were a few other documents that they required.

This is what I handed in:
-medical and chest xray certificate
-criminal record search certificate
-employer supplementary form
-job description
-employment contract
-certificate of registration qualifications - New Zealand
-certificate of registration qualifications - Canada
-letter of good standing with professional body
-letter of employment (the ones that have your work years on it)
-work experience
-current CV
-references

Not all of this was on the list of required documents, but I had them all sitting on the table waiting for PR. I figured if they had a little extra info about me, it wouldn't hurt.
:)

Thanks Leanne, I agree they may as well send the same/similar stuff but I couldn't find the form anywhere and I searched and searched but found it now. :clap
