I have an idea for a business and am wondering if anyone has any idea what the rules are about importing goods for business use. I am in the very early stages and to be honest have done very little research on this side of things thus far, have been concentrating more on the product side of things. Any help is appreciated.

Fairly easy - you would use a specialist freight company to do the paperwork for you and they would also arrange delivery of the goods to an address you nominate. Dependant on what you are importing, there may be import tax to pay - they would advise you. There is then GST to pay, a charge for the admin and any freight due.

If your supplier can not arrange to freight to NZ, then the freight company can also arrange the goods to be picked up.

There are many many import freight companies.
