Hello all!

Just wondered if anyone out there is currently going through application process under the partnership category through the London office? If so, how quickly is your application progressing?

Having become optimistic after seeing posts from applicants who were getting residency in 1 month, I was pretty depressed to get a letter from INZ saying my husbands application would take 4 weeks to be given a case officer and then 3 -4 months from allocation of a case officer to be processed.

The letter came 2 weeks ago and we havent heard anything else. Even though they say 4 weeks I was hoping we might have heard something, still being optimtistic!

We were hoping to head to NZ overland in early October via the Trans Mongolian express, before the cold winter sets in Siberia and Mongolia. Plus we have 4 sets of visas to get, which we cant apply for until we have James passport back. But now it seems we are looking at 4-5 months total so the trip just wont be possible (unless I can cope witth -20 degrees) :(

Its always been my dream to do this trip home and now it seems like it wont happen. Need reassurance on the timescales front if anyone is able to provide any!

Many thanks
Laura

I'm afraid I can't reassure you or give you any helpful advice, BUT I just wanted to say that that overland trip sounds absolutely fantastic and I really really hope you get to do it!

It's over a year now since I submitted my application for PR based on partnership, but my timings might reassure you:

I submitted my application on 17th May. A few days later I got a letter saying it would take up to 8 weeks to be allocated a case officer, and then 8 - 12 weeks after getting a CO to making a decision.

I then didn't hear anything for three weeks until I got a letter saying my application had been approved in principle.

I'm in the same situation. We were led to believe that our partnership PR would be processed in a matter of weeks, however when I went to submit it I was advised that it would take 8-10 months to be processed by the INZ Christchurch office - some even take 3 years. Because we need to get to NZ by September we were advised to apply for a partnership work visa at the same time as the PR, and told this would take 3-4 weeks, meaning our plans are back on track and I should get PR before the work visa runs out. We were allowed to just photocopy all the information we compiled for the PR visa - but you may not be able to do this if all your stuff is with INZ already.

I submitted my wife's in January, got the standard "it will take 8 weeks to be allocated and then 3-4 months letter" after 2 weeks and then a couple of weeks later my wife got a phone call saying that all done and you can collect your passport now.

So don't be too pessimistic!

You could also get in touch just to outline your plans so that they know you have a timeline. It may help.

Hello all!

Just wondered if anyone out there is currently going through application process under the partnership category through the London office? If so, how quickly is your application progressing? The standard acknowledgement letter that they send out in these cases says 4 weeks for allocation to a Case Officer, then 10 to 12 weeks to make a decision.

It seems from others on here (including me) that applications submitted within the last few months have taken exactly 4 weeks to process after the original acknowledgement, provided that there are no issues with the Police Certificates, Medical, Partnership evidence etc.

Hi

We're in a similar position we submitted in person on 3 June they said that partnership dept?? was quiet so shouldn't take to long.

Same as you got the standard letter a couple of days later saying 4 week to be allocated etc.

We hadn't heard anything after 4 weeks so sent a friendly e-mail enquiring about a case officer and got a reply giving the name of a case officer. That was 3 weeks ago and not heard anything since.

Like you had read about others getting agreement in principle within 4 weeks of submitting and had my hopes up that we would be the same but we are at 7 weeks and counting now.

It's hard to know how long to wait before chasing up (as I imagine it staying at the bottom of the pile) but also not wanting to annoy them.

Let us know how you get on.
