Has anyone had any photobooks made here in NZ? I am looking into getting some made using my weddings pics, but haven't used any digital photo labs here in NZ before, so don't know which companies to use or which to avoid. Any recommendations?

I have used Frogprints

www.frogprints.co.nz

for quite a few things, but not the actual books, but everything has been good, quick delivery too. My friend got a photo book done with them, and said it came out well.

Yes, I used Frogprints for a photobook, (our fist year in NZ), to send to rellies at Xmas. I was very pleased with them, but two things to note, and I don't know if this is always the case:

1) The finish is more like a photocopy than a glossy photo

2) Be aware of the sizes, I did a whole book online, then realised a lot of the photos would be very small, so I upgraded to the next size up, (which meant doing it all again), before I ordered.

It took me a few nights but I found the software quite simple and I liked the fact I could add text sometimes.

IMO, (which is rarely humble :p), its not as nice as looking at photos in an album, but I find I show it around a lot more and I like the fact there are several copies out there.

I'll definitely be doing another one in a year or two. :)

Cheers

Tia

Thanks for the tips, and sorry for not saying thank you sooner! I must go and spread it about a bit so I can give you two rep again.

I looked at the frogprints website (along with about a million others) - the only thing I don't like about their photobook is the binding - it says it uses chicago screws, and really I want stitched binding. I've seen this website which looks good: http://www.momento.co.nz/ Has anyone used them or heard anything about them?

This morning I got a special offer email from photobox in the UK saying their photobooks are 2 for the price of 1, so I think I'm going to use them for now (better the devil you know and all that). Now I just have to go through about a million pics to find ones I like and then I've got to get to work with photoshop to get rid of some wrinkles. (The camera never lies, sadly....) :D

Oh I had no idea you could do this so thanks! Great timing as I'm just thinking about Christmas shopping as I was sooooo late with everything last year I want to be ahead of the game this year.

I would give you all some rep but I have to spread it around - sorry!
