I am from Singapore too and my family are going possibly to Auckland (as first choice) and Wellington (as second option). We got residency visa and planning to leave next year in May.

We didn't consider Christchurch although we found it to be the most pleasant city in NZ. The only thing, was that there were fewer job opportunities in Christchurch than we would have liked.

So just curious what job you have going there.....

Hi Batgirl. Auckland and Wellington considered to be big cities, and more chinese are there. Congralation you have already got your PR there. I heard now more restrict to asian.

I am applying work visa first, then after i arrived and found a job i will consider to apply PR, since i checked with immigration, according to them PR takes 6 mths for processing, i planned to go in sept, so not enough time for me to apply PR. and the chance may not get high if apply pR directly from sg.

Yes Chch will have fewer opportunies compared to Auckland, i think i will start with a parttime while meanwhile looking for jobs in banking or finance industry. A new life will begin if i can succesfully get my visa.
