Sorry if this has been posted before .... but just a question regarding Electrical Stuff.
The voltage over in NZ compared to the UK looks similar so things should be able to work okay with a plug adaptor / change of plugs ... right ?
But what about the TV and radio etc which receives a transmission. Are they all one the same wavelenghs? Will our tv be able to receive NZ tv programes and or thy sky / cable channels, or do we sell it and buy new once we arrive.
(Thankfully our DVD player is multi regional so should be ok if the plug thing works out....)

A friend bought their t v over and could only get the picture and not the sound, so he had to go through his video recorder to pick up sound (NOT A GREAT PICTURE EITHER).
Tv's vairy in price but we picked up a new one ( panasonic multi play dvd, stand, 28"tv all mod con's) for $1000 and you get a yr guarantee.
as for every thing else you can use an adoptor.
your sky dish, box not sure about ,
At the moment sky are offering a $99 deal so might be a good idea to take advantage of that (if it's still on) you get a new dish, box tuned in and gaurantee!
We didn't bring ours as we didn't know if NZ would be able to fix it ,if it broke.

Might be worth noting thought, that sky over here is nothing like the sky in England. :wah

We brought our 2 TV's, DVD's and Videos - they'll work but we can't video from TV (and obviously we can't use their DVD's on our Region 2 players) and we had to get Sky as no audio & terrible picture (but we bought a small Kiwi 14" tv for the bedroom & can only get 3 bad picture channels on that due to the fact we're next to a big hill! However, Wilson's right - Sky is nothing like at home - we've hardly watched it as its so pants!!!!! :laugh

OK, I dont mean to take over this thread but I've moved our DVD surround system from the UK, but when I try and educate the Kiwis into some Phoenix Nights Comedy they can't see my DVD Disc, does anyone know how to reprogram your DVD player to play DVD's from other Regions. - I know there is a website that lists the codes but I can't find it.
BTW PLEASE DO NOT POINT OUT THAT THE DVD DISC I HAVE IS REGION 2 AND THEY HAVE REGION 4....I ALREADY KNOW THIS.

Just type in the make of your DVD and I'm sure someone will have left a "press a few buttons, open and close tray" solution.
I was wondering if the Kiwi's would appreciate Peter Kay's comedy, if their way of life is similar in any way.
The missus was going to get tickets for my birthday in April to see him at the Royal Albert Hall, but they sold out in about an hour or two. You can buy them on ebay for about £120 each, and considering the hotel prices have doubled in London on that weekend for a certain Royal Wedding.....I think maybe some other time :?
