Hi i just want to ask a couple of questions OH goes on his reccie trip to Ackland and Welly soon, OH has been registering with agencie and also started to apply for jobs last night (fingers cross). OH has had a few replys from agencie asking him to meet him when he arrive is this the normal way its done as we're starting to think the expense for a 2 week reccie could be a waste if its only agancies he gets to meet.
Also could someone tell me how much OH will need as he will be staying with a friend in Auckland and got cheap flights from Ackland to Welly $141 is that cheap :uhoh
Thank you
Natasha

heya
A few people have been over on short trips to do interviews/meet agencies sothey are probably best placed to advise - but if the agencies have your OH's CV and know how long he is going to be around then they may be able to organise stuff in that period.

My OH had one week in Auckland (with Anzac day in the middle) and still managed to interview with 8 companies so it can be done. Your OH will just need to be prepared for some exhausting days! My OH landed on Sunday lunchtime and had his first interview at 9am on Monday!
I think a lot of agencies do like to meet with you but its usually just a formality especially if he has already had phone conversations with them. I think my OH had coffee with a couple of agency contacts.
HTH and good luck!

Hey Natasha, hopefully once your OH gets out there and meets some of the agencies they will be able to fit him in for a few interviews, it's also worth him chasing up any employers he's already contacted to let them now when he would be available for a meeting with them perhaps?
gotta to keep pushing yourself forward otherwise people will forget about you!
