Not sure if there is already a thread for this so sorry for duplicating but I'm always wanting things & haven't got a clue where to start shopping, I also don't have the time to browse too much with toddler & baby in tow so as the title say "Where can I buy"
A biggish (500x700mm) cheap picture frame
ceiling lights again cheapish but nice
a pack of thank you cards
I'm sure there's more so will post as I want/need, feel free to add what you all need but can't think of where to start looking

Never brought a pack in UK, so I didn't know what to expect. Been using pack that came with it since 2003, just kids rarely get ill :nice1 but virus we had in last 5 weeks was worse we had, all of us struck down hence we have been using thermoscan more than usual.

Warehouse and Briscoes are good for cheap picture frames. I got some clip frames in Briscoes last weekend for $1 each.
Lighting Direct for ceiling lights - they have quite a good range, and you can search online to see if they have stock of what you want in your local store.
Thank-you cards from Whitcolls or PaperPlus.

Thats unusual, i always use the warehouse as the beginning and nearly always find things there.........
How about Kmart, or Dollars and sense (bargain shop), or even $2 shop ? You can normally pick up a bargain there..........not that i am a skinflint, but if i can gets stuff cheaper, i do!

Is Spotlight the best (only ) place to get fabric? Not had the best experience in there so far but can't seem to think where else to look ???
Also are there such things as card shops or is there only ever a small selection in bookstores or The Warehouse? I just can't find Thank you cards in a pacl?

I premuse it is for thank you to people who brought presents for your baby daughter?
Why not make it, very simple, pack of plain card and a big stamp of "thank you" with pink ink on the front and glue a little pink bow under "thank you". That is enough. All of these can get it from K-mart or spotlight, I made my own birth announcement cards for all three children's birth.

depends on what sort of fabric you are after - I find they only stock a very basic range of both furnishing and clothing fabric, without much choice in either. It's probably better to have a look in your local yellow pages for a specialist fabric store. I could recommend ones in Auckland, but have no idea about Wellington unfortunately.
You can definitely get packs of thank-you cards in both Whitcolls and Paperplus.
If none of these are to your taste, it is really easy to get them made with a photo on from places like Photobox. I usually do this rather than buy cards.

Tell me about it. I'm 5 foot 2 and I can't seem to get jeans that aren't trailing down the floor (btw I tried them on in Glassons and they were pretty long there so that might be worth a try!). I talked to the (tiny Asian) girl in the shop who said that she had the same problem and had that I'd have to ahve them altered or do it myself if I was going to find jeans to fit me.
I miss petite ranges. If anyone sees anywhere that does them let me know!

I've not actually been there yet (hey I've only been here 9 months!) but apparently there's a place in the centre of Queenstown Mall in Lower Hutt that does alterations for you within the hour. :nice1

I was after curtain material, winnie the pooh or pink design also I want to make a pocket hanger for DD's cuddly toys as so many.
Thanks for the Thank You cards posts, I have tonight done an ink footprint which I will get copied onto a few cards, probably take me another year to do :wah I did see a pack of plain cards & envelopes in the Warehouse this afternoon, should have bought them as $9 for 50 I think.
Sophia have you looked in the Warehouse as I saw jeans in there today which were longer length but not sure how long, I tried on a few pairs of trousers & all too long for me :wah & we wont even go there on the sizes I tried on but Cindy Crawford post birth video coming out for an airing tomorrow :exit

I finally (after much despair) found a pair of trousers that fit me, length-wise, at Ezibuy http://www.ezibuy.co.nz/ - they have short lengths. It was the first pair of trousers I bought in NZ, and I've been here a while now - I don't understand why they make all the trousers so long. :no

You could try Kathmandu sales.....they have some navy and black jeans (boot cut style). I got some in the sales recently and had to get 3" removed from the legs so they might be some long enough for you?

Inside leg now about 29.5"...but they have been washed a few times do were probably more like 30".....might be a bit on the short side for you, but I did notice that most of their trousers seemed longer than other shops. I have to take everything up anyway, so I just buy things that fit on the top half.
My favourite place for jeans is Fat face:
http://www.fatface.com/icat/denimwomens
Their long length is 34", but they are pretty expensive so I only ever get anything if it is on sale, but jeans do come up fairly often. Unlike Next they also ship to NZ and it is not too expensive either.
