What's Nelson like for mums with babies?

Hi,

My friend is moving to Nelson in November. Her husband comes from there, so they have some family connections, but they will be moving over with a 6 month old baby. I was wondering what Nelson was like for young mums - are there plenty of mums & toddlers or under ones groups, and are there actitivies for babies e.g. equivalent of the UK Gymbabes and Jo Jingles groups?

Cheers,

Debbie

I'd go for playcentres, all over NZ and very good way of meeting folks :yes

I'm sure someone else will be along with Nelson specific stuff :)

There are lots of playcentres around, storytime at libraries, Mainly Music (similar to Jo Jingles), baby swim classes, baby music classes run by Nelson School of Music, playgroups, Chipmunks indoor soft play centre, beaches, playgrounds and probably lots of other stuff too but I'm past the baby stage so never needed to research it. Hope that helps your friend - she shouldn't feel she's missing out hopefully!

Thanks for info - sounds like there's a lot going on.

Cheers!
