well - cannot actually believe that's it.. work is over for me in the UK.We broke up today for hols so that's me finished. Don't really know how I feel - sad or happy - I love my job (I support in a school) and am already thinking about being able to start asap somewhere in NZ :) However I am happy that plans are proceeding and I've now got time on my hands to sort everything that needs doing to get over there (plus have a little holiday!)

I think I feel a little empty if that doesn't sound too melodramatic!
no doubt I'll bounce back and be back on my euphoric rush again soon ;)

The work may have ended here but the big adventure is about to begin.

Yes I am dreading leaving work in one way so can empathise with you on that one. On the other hand .......:exit so looking forward to not having to get up every morning. :cheers

Good luck with everything vixxan, I am sure the 5th October will come around all too quickly with everything you have to do. You're bound to feel a little empty as things are changing and are becoming so final, but remember, they are changing for the better! - Remind me I said that when I am going through the same thing :D

My last day of term on Monday - one more lesson to teach! Well, video to watch! Kind of felt like the end today though. 8 weeks to drive myself crazy with planning and replanning, making lists and remaking lists. Saying goodbye again, again and again!!:clap

oh thanks everyone - good to know I'm not on my own with these bizarre feelings :D

(Carey - I've no doubt its hitting you too and what with packers in as well :exit)

the kids were lovely today but we did have some tears - I have just been looking through the pile of drawings and cards they made me :) (and eating some of the choccies!).

One little boy was sobbing and couldn't be pacified even with the photograph I'd printed out for him.. "Its not really you - I want the real one!" another said "will I not even see you in Asda?" priceless ;)

I can't wait to finish work here, but then I work with a bunch of adults with their heads in software development not rooms full of adorable kids ;) enjoy your time off work and good luck with having enough time to fit everything in before october :D

I've only got 11 days of work left and I've got a countdown posted up on the wall at work. I'm looking forward to finishing, but I think I'm going to really miss some of the folks I work with. I actually think I may shed a few tears at that point...I hope there's cake to help ease the pain!!!

I have that feeling too and I haven't finished work yet!! I will finish a week before we leave. We have 9 weeks to go but I do feel a bit down at times. What will I feel like when the time finally comes - who knows? We are all in the same boat. :roll

Ok you have one day to wallow in self pity - then get cracking girl - all that 'stuff' needs sorting - you can't bring all your junk to NZ you know! :laugh

Seriously - the time will fly by, and the date you step on the plane you'll be wondering where all the times gone.

Have a good summer! :)

It's one more step over Vicki and you're bound to feel a bit empty but just think of what you've been waiting for for the past year - it's now happening!!!!! See you on the other side one day for a few glasses of real NZ Sauv Blanc.:cheers

Hope you get a good day for your car boot. The next few months will fly buy and you'll be getting on that plane to NZ and we'll be seeing you on this side of the world for a catch up before you know it.

I can only imagine how you felt yesterday on the last day. I'm having enough trouble coming to terms with the fact my wonderful year 6s are leaving on Wednesday - I'm being uncharacteristically soppy and sentimental about them so who knows what I'll be like when I finally leave myself - whenever that may be. I'm normally desperate for term to end but this time I'm just not ready. I suspect it's partly to do with the knowledge that in April (probably) I'll be leaving myself.

Vixxann good luck with all the clearing and sorting etc etc. :)

Vixxan, All the best! Be cheerful. There is such an exciting future ahead of you.

I think I would start sailing in the same boat in some time, that is if things go on well.

although I finished school on friday I had another little top-up today as I went into my daughters primary (where I worked last year) and gave her class the powerpoint slide show of NZ that I'd done last week. DD also got to stand up at front with her NZ jacket on and her fluffy kiwi etc - well chuffed with all the attention ! After a quick brew in staff room I got collared by more teachers to go into their classes and show / talk to their kids so I've spent the whole morning in school in the end! (love it :D)

back to reality now and I've a quick tidy round and sort out as got two shipping companies coming tues and weds this week for prices :uhoh
