If, after working our 3 months for a NZ employer after being granted PR, we were then to be employed by a UK firm full-time, is this okay? Must we work for a NZ company after this 3 month period?

Advice needed.

Helen as I understand it you don't have to even work the three months. Someone on here has posted this when they were in a job they hated but can't remember the name, it may be worth doing a search.

Helen

Its worth checking with NZIS, our friends have been granted PR after coming here and working and they were told that as Guy had already done three months with his employer he was ok to change jobs if he wanted.

We were granted PR in principle in Nov 05, the only proviso being that I remined in the job I had been offered in NZ for three months. Now that three months is up I have sent my passports to NZIS in London to have the PR stamp with no restrictions. Once I have those stamped passports in my hot little mits, I can go to another job as I wish.

If your PR is based on points claimed for a job offer, then you have to stay in it for 3 months. This is called an 18A condition.

If you can PR without claiming points for a job offer, then you can do what you want from day 1.
