My partner and I are currently living in Australia and we sleep on a bed bought in NZ and use Australian bought bed linen etc. We plan to ship this bed over to NZ when we move, but not ship the beds we own in the UK as my tenants are currently using those. However I am quite attached to my UK bed linen, quilts and pillows. The bed linen include fitted sheets.

My question is: will my UK bed linen fit on an NZ bed or should I leave it all in the UK?

I'm this has been discussed before but I'll be blowed if I can find the relevant thread.

Put it this way we have a UK King sized wooden bed frame but the mattress was old so we left it behind. OH purchased a NZ King sized mattress which we slept on on the floor until our container arrived. The mattress is everso slightly too big for the frame but is useable, however our UK King sized fitted sheets only just stretch and quite often a corner will have 'popped off' overnight. I have now invested in some NZ King size fitted sheets in neutral colours so I can mix and match with the duvet covers we have.

I'll see if I can find that previous thread but HTH in the meantime.

Basically what the UK know as king size is queen size here (and in Oz).

Double bed stuff is quite hard to find, specially fitted sheets I have found...

Try finding US king size stuff! :eek: I guess it's "super king" here...

This has got me thinking... Anyone seen king-size extra length? We have a stunning Simmons extra length extra depth king size and we'd hate to discover we couldn't get bedding for it.

For the most common bed size (NZ Queen) it is very similar in size to the US Queen which is 152 x 203 cm (which is the same as the UK King)
