Hey all,

Although we completed our move to NZ a while ago :), OH wants to get on a teaching course and needs to have UK degree assessed by NZQA. Problem is that degree was awared back in 1995 and the univeristy has since destroyed all evidence associated with the course, i.e. syllabus, marking sheets, etc. OH has no evidence other than the certificate itself :(.

NZQA guidelines state that supporting documentation includes:

Transcripts of results, mark sheets or academic records for degrees,
diplomas or other award certificates.

Anyone else been in this position and what was the NZQA position?

Thanks,

Stephen

Stephen,

I dont want to put a dampener on this situation....but my quals have been with nzxa since jan and they are still debating it. They wont take it any further until they have marking sheets etc, and they are in my mil loft in cumbria!...I am frantically trying to get evidence from my university, friends on the course etc etc

It may depend on the subject? I am a teacher

Might there be any mileage in trying to contact staff from the department, who might have personal records, if the university registry has destroyed the general ones? (Or the registry, if the department has destroyed their records.) I must say, 1995 seems very recent to me for everything relating to a particular course to have gone - most places have archives going back ages, scanned data or on microfiche if not the actual hard copies. What about asking their library or archivist, too?
