Hi All,
In follow up to my previous post ''Skilled migrant EOI - do i meet the criteria'' dated 18 July (page 2).
I had a very useful discussion with an immigration officer in NZ the other day, who advised me about the ANZSCO list, and I would appreciate any thoughts/ comments you may as this appears to resolve my problem, which means I now am able to submit my EOI for a skilled migrant visa, as I will collect > 140 points.
My only reservation is that I have been on the phone with this department at least 4 times, and this was the first time this solution was offered.......
My job is on the long term skill shortage list - Auditor (ANZSCO code 221213), but the requirements are very specific, as you need to be a registered member of a NZ accountancy body, which is impossible for me as I have not yet every been to NZ. (I am however a qualified accountant via ACCA, but they wont recognise this - so no point having the qualification assessed by NZQA)
However, apparently as I have more than 5 years audit experience and have a relevant BCOM degree (level 7) through a recognised university, I am able to state this on my skilled migrant EOI under ''area of absolute skilled shortage'' and Im sorted (apparently)....
After 3 long months of trying to get to the bottom of this, the solution seems a bit easy/straight forward.............
So before I submit my EOI, (and possibly receive a rejection), has anybody had a similar experience, or have any advice to offer as I am all ears (or eyes)?
Justin
