Hi Everyone, I've been watching this site for a while and decided it was time to say hello! My family are deep in the process of getting to NZ, my OH has applied under skilled migrant with a job offer, and to be honest this whole processs is getting really stressful!

Anyway, I wish all the best to everyone else and please keep your fingers crossed for us!!

Claire

Hi and welcome,
You think having a job offer would be easier!! Yes it speeded it up but my OH offer of employment stated that he needed electrical registration before appproval which panicked us and would have slowed things right down! Luckily my OH new employer waivered that bit until we arrive.

Lucy : I know what you mean! Having a job offer meant that in my head at least things would be a LOT easier! But there've been hassles with the medicals, sending things to and from the MA's and a VO going RIGHT by the book!

And my OH job has to start on Oct 6th! My fingernails are chewed out of existence!

My OH has been placed in Kaitaia in the North Island, so we're looking either there or in Coopers Beach. Either one will be sooooo much nicer than Luton and we can't wait!!

I think it was about the 30th June we submitted the ITA, but things have ben soooo held up with the medical side of things. I had to have extra tests due to high LFT results and a liver scan too (turns out I'm totally fine - just one of those naturally off the scale people??) and today we've just handed over some more info they needed so hopefully that'l be that!

I'm just hoping all this stress will pay off in the end!

Well look like we may have to go down the same road as you. My LFT where elevated Gamma GT and ALT already had a Hep C (addtional test) + anouther LFT which showed the levels going down. (my doc thinks the high levels may be due to the 5 day trip to the British GP + lots of drinking ((i normal don't drink much)) 3 days before the blood test and he put this in his report summery)

However, don't hold out much hope this will wash with the MA and fully expect to be asked to have additional tests done. What additional test where you asked to complete? I have private medical insurance so theroeticaly I could go to my doc with my LFT results and ask for a refural get the tests done and have them ready for when they ask for them.

On a more up beat note: Where are you off to in NZ. I have a surveying Job in Auckland and fortuantly my new empolyers are happy to wait.

Hi Claire Louise and welcome from a fellow Lutonian. What line of work is your OH in? We are flying out to Christchurch in September (7 weeks and counting). It seems more and more people form Luton & Dunstable are making the move - I wonder why..........?

Hi, You had exactly the same elevated LFT as me!! I had to have the extra hep C test and then spend a week agonizing over that! (negative though) I was told my levels may be bacause of 10 yrs on the pill, and needed a doctors note from my GP to back this up. He refused without me first having a Liver and Abdomen scan so I had to go to London to get that done.
We sent the scan results (showing I have the most boring normal no damage etc liver in the world) along with the doctors note saying that he thinks I dont need any more tests and that I'm fit and healthy blah blah and that was that.
The latest thing is that I had post natal depression 4 yrs ago and they want proof that I'm ok now.
So hopefully thats it! Maybe you should have a liver scan done to be on the safe side. I reckon they'l probably ask for one anyway.
Good luck!!
