Ok, so not quite as exciting as the title would suggest =)
The ITA arrived in the post a few days ago and we've been collating all the paperwork we need to send back. Typical me, having checked the website obsessively for ages I got caught up with family things, completely missed the change to "Decision Successful" and stared dumbly at the envelope for a few minutes when the postie handed it over!
Their covering letter says in very bold letters not to submit this in a file or plastic sleeves. So what has everyone else sent theirs in using? How else can you organise this mass of papers into something more coherent than a mess?
(Currently all organised - in requested order - in separate pockets of an expanding cardboard wallet/file type thing, but I'd hate to have them send it back because we couldn't read the large type on the front page regarding files!)

Hi Katie
Congrats on getting your ITA :raebanana:raebanana
I had this dilemma too. I knew what I wanted/needed to make sure it was neatly and securely packed but didn't know where to find it!! I happened to be chatting with a friend at work and she said she had an old NEXT catalogue box......PERFECT!!! Our info, including medicals etc. ended up being about 2+ inches thick! It fitted perfectly top to bottom but had about an inch to spare on the sides so I just put a layer of thin bubble wrap around it to stop it moving around too much. Then I wrapped it in brown paper and sent it off! It was like wrapping up a gift....very exciting for all sorts of reasons...lol :laugh
Didn't get any complaints from immigration! Hope this helps....

Ours was just one big stack of papers with two elastic bands around it sent in a very large bubble wrap envelope. They really, really don't like paperclips, seperate wallets, dividers etc.
I'm a very organised type of person when it comes to paperwork and I felt very uncomfortable just bundling it up into a 'loose' pile of papers but if thats how they want it that was how I was going to send it!
I sent ours by same day bike courier just to be sure the envelope didn't get lost/damanged in transit. You could also go and hand it in personally if getting to NZ House isn't too hard for you, they open at 10am I believe.

Ditto Anneliese. It went against the grain, but we just sent them in a big pile in the specified order. I guess they just don't like folders and stuff because they have to throw them away and it's a waste.

Yeah we too just took it in to NZ house in one big pile. It was quite exciting actually going in person. We took the kids and enjoyed a weekend in London this time last year in fact, crikey where has that year gone?

just read your posting.
we were selected from the pool on the same day as you and also received our ITA on saturday.
it will be interesting to keep an eye on each others progress over the coming weeks/months. ( I feel like a stalker, i am not, don't worry!) i am sure it will be an exciting emotional journey for both families. i have kept looking for people at the same stage as us. the questions etc and info in those postings are usually things i am wondering too.
it is strange how the situation progresses, the other week i was fretting about EOI and points and now i don't even think about that anymore, i am looking for info on medicals. I think i must be fickle!! Then, hopefully soon I will be looking up info about "blue stickers"- (what ever they are, they sound important and everyone has clapping bananas when they get them!!!)
we are using an agent, so things like sending the paper work off without folders etc hadn't even crossed my mind. for some reason our ITA came to our home address rather than the agent, i nearly died when i saw all of the paper work and passed it onto our agent like a hot potato! I think most of it was a copy of our EOI, but, even so I was very pleased I could get rid of it.
I will keep an eye out for any of your postings and if we can be of any support let me know.

One of the things I did with ours was to put in an A4 sheet between all the relevant bits with an explantion of what we were including as evidence for that bit - eg - proof of relationship - I enclose a copy of marriage certificate and joint bank account statements.
This made me feel better that I'd organised it all, and also gave me an extra check list as I went through it all, making sure all the bits of evidence i said were included were and in the correct sections, I felt it would also help NZIS to know what they should have received from us in section, just in case it all got mixed up.

Hi Willow! Good to see there's someone else at the same stage as us - like you, the worries over the EoI have gone overnight and we're now chasing piles of paper. We thought about using an agent (several agencies keep emailing me with job offers) but money is a little too tight to pay someone else to sort it out when we can do it ourselves. Besides, it's part of the fun! (if I say that long enough, I'll believe it... )
It does feel somehow wrong not to be more organised with the papers - I can't help thinking that with one large stack something will get lost or out of order. Marcia, I love the idea of putting in dividing sheets of A4 with explanations, that's an excellent idea.
Right... one hurdle jumped, about 15(thousand) more to go... it'll be worth it!

just about got my head around not being able to divide all the paperwork neatly between dividers or into plastic sleeves (it kills me, but if thats what they want :() but what I would also like to know is what everyone else put in their covering letter? is it just confirming what you've put in the envelope! sorry, having a bit of a blonde day today! thanks in advance.

If you can go to New Zealand House, they are very help and check over your application to make sure you have submitted everything and you don't have to worry about lose bits of paper.

Just wondering...
Did you take the staple out of the ITA packet and put the papers in there in the correct order or do you put everything in order behind the covering sheet NZIS sent or...?
Does it say somewhere? :uhoh
I have all the stuff more or less ready to go just need to organize it as I tossed documents as I found them onto a large pile on a table just for ITA stuff. :o
Just need to get the photocopies made and pick up my X-ray forms and am hoping to send out this week...
