Just thought I'd like to say hello. I have been following this forum some time now, but never posted.
I am right at the start of the emigration process. Haven't collected any documents yet, but have planned a recon trip to Wellington coming November to see if that's where I'd like to go.
I'll be emigrating all by myself. I find that very daunting but think that it might also be easier when you don't have to take other people into account.
It seems I'll have to go the work permit and then PR route as I don't have a job that's on the priority list and don't have enough points to start with. At the moment I'm an HR Relocation Consultant for a major company here in the Netherlands, meaning that I transfer people abroad for the company. I'd like to do something like that in Welly as well. Or perhaps even Immigration Consultancy.
Wel that's enough rambling for now. I'm sure I'll be checking back here often, since the forum has already given me loads of information.

You will find everyone on here really helpful with ideas and advice on the emigration process. I think I would have given up, or gone crazy with some of the questions I had spinning in my head, but this place sorts them out.

Also whenever you suddely feel what am I doing, or am I mad for feeling like this, you find out it is quite normal.

Hi Ingrid I am also emigrating on my own too and yes it is daunting. You will find loads of info on this site as well as support. It has really helped me and kept me going when I have felt less confident.

Welcome to the forum. Brave decision to go do it yourself, yet on the otherhand maybe more straightforward then those of us with kids?! Believe there are a number of Dutch forum members based in Welly, so if there's anything specific regarding the move from NL to NZ, they are sure to offer some advise.
