who said that you wouldn't be selected with 110??? I submitted two EOIs and both were selected with 110 points without job offer. Don't ever loose hope. I was given an ITA but I had to withdraw it because of NZQA delays. After my NZQA report had been issued, I submitted a new EOI and it was selected with 110 points only!!!
Be optimistic :)

Hey there,

We are right there with you on the house bit. Our house has been on the market since the first week of June and NO BITES!! Tons of showings, had an open house, great feedback and still nothing!!

It is very frustrating. Hang in there.

I think everyone here (that doesn't have PR) is in the same boat!

The weather here is hot, humid and rainy.

We're not even going to bother trying to sell, just rent and pray that we break even.

We hate our jobs and just want to leave this place and have no clue if we will even get into NZ, so everything is in Limbo.

To top it off... a friend/coworker of mine just got her car broken into (in our work parking lot) and they stole her GPS...she lost her apartment due to fire a few weeks ago which killed her cat and birds... I feel awful for her...:(

...Things could be worse...

We have thought about renting but we want to sever ALL ties with the US.

Colorado just had a record breaking heat streak for over 20 days being near hundred or at one hundred degrees out!

Hang in there all!! :)

It's been in the low 90's for the past month... with afternoon rains...

We would LOVE to sell our place but we would be in the hole if we did... unless the market shoots up like crazy in the next few months...

We don't have kids and want to do that... OH already used his WHV...so he would have to go as a visitor... and I'd rather not go alone...

The waiting is the killer... our whole life is in limbo... not a great feeling...

We don't have kids and have thought about doing that as well, I guess we will call it our "Plan B." LOL

We are getting very antsy as things here just get worse and worse.

Hang in there peeps!!! :cheers

Hey, I know you may all think its getting bad where you are, but I cant tell you HOW MANY MANY South Africans would love to swap places with all of you to live on your side of the world in the UK or USA!
Funny isnt it...
We love it in SA, but the crime is getting out of hand...and most SA's beleive (perhaps know) that it isnt as bad in the UK or USA and certainly NZ, hence the wish to move (especially where children are involved)

Believe me, you DO NOT want to live in the USA right now. It looks all rosy from the outside but crime, drugs, corruption, exploitation, lies, cruddy health care, people who do not give a flip about others other than themselves...it is really scary and disgusting. We do not like it, so we are leaving. :exit

Bridgett - Most places suck... We all face the same things to varying degrees. Nobody seems to want to be where they have been placed anymore. Unfortunately not everyone is fortunate enough to have to option to even try to move like we do.

Kellbell - I agree with you... things seem to be going down hill very quickly... hopefully we're both wrong...

hI , I have worked with alot of SA in the UK and they get here AND feel disappointed as crime still high here - education not as good as SA? weather awful and they do not settle that well - 3 teachers have gone back even though they are allowed to stay - I would recommend NZ !!

Hi,

With the risk of being unpopular for a minute :wah the above description fits to a t Wellington (and my life here) over the last month or so. It is raining nonstop, the housing market is at a standstill and limbo is the name of the game. Perhaps we place too much emphasis on geography rather than look inside to identify the source of our restlessness and discontent. Chin up everyone and keep rowing!

If you see the price of laughing cow in New World, Wellington (about 3 times as much as in Tesco) you will eat even more. Yum!

The following quote (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Randy_Pausch) is for all of you folks who're still banging your heads against NZIS:

The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out; the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.

Hi there,

when you fill out the EOI they do delve into your children and who lives with who and who are their parents. That may or may not be problem however, and please correct me if I'm wrong here anyone, if your sister gets residency and waits 2 years then she could sponsor you. 2 years is forever to some young people but it would give you time to save and give the housing market a chance to get back on the tracks.
