Hi wondering if there's anyone on here who lives near Rotorua?
We are currently in Tauranga but I start work in Rotorua next week so am facing the 1 hour commute each way. My husband works at the hospital here in Tauranaga and is committed for a while and we are also committed on the house we are renting so I'll have to do it for a while, however I don't want it to be a long term plan. My new employer is being very good about flexibility with my start time but has written in my offer letter "we recognise the need to work flexible hours due to your location in Tauranga but the long term solution is to move closer to Rotorua".
My husband is dead set against the idae of moving to Rotorua as he keeps getting horror stories from work mates - he works in community mental health which means they often have to deal with some of the worst parts of society! So I'm looking for a more balanced view from others who actually live there or nearby. We also have a child so we need to consider childcare and schools. What about some of the surrounding areas?
Any thoughts appreciated.
