It really depends on your circumstances.....
eg number of dependents, size of mortgage etc etc

two children and wife. about 40k uk pounds to set ourselfs up ..

No, it's not enough for an immigrant with a spouse and family to live comfortably, unfortunately.

(And yes, many Kiwis can and do live on this wage, but do you really want to move halfway round the world to worry about meeting your bills every week?)
