Hi,
we have two cats and are planning on bringing them with us. Are pets usually allowed or is it hard to find places that allow cats??
Thanks
Nick :nice1

From experience I'd say it's easier to find a rental with cats than it is dogs, but on the whole your choice will be very much limited if looking with pets.

Hi,

We rented a house & the only stipulation was no dogs - so we got 2 kittens on Friday :nice1

As Moorf says - it may limit your choice - but we were lucky the house we wanted allowed us to have cats. Sometimes if you have a chat with the landlord they may allow you. When I phoned him to find out if I was OK to get a cat he told me that I could even have a dog under certain circumstances!

Good luck! :hopeso

I think the landlords like to suss out the tenants before allowing things so by putting the no dogs rule there they can change their minds if they choose.
It might also be worth offering a 'dog damage' bond to any prospective landlords.

Hi Gang,

We're in the same boat, two cats and looking to rent before we buy. We'll be chatting to prospective landlords and see if we can win them 'round with our winning personalities and performing cats (well, they do meow alot!) :)

Yep V, our landlord had stipulated no pets, but when Summer came along we approached them and, as he knew us to be good tenants and we promised we would ensure any damage that occured would be paid for, he allowed us to keep Summer :nice1 They may ask for a higher bond but I'm sure you'd all agree it's worth it.
