Hi

New to the forums. My sister moved to NZ - is working as a teacher, is loving it and is about to have residency approved. She wants me there with her.

I am single mum and have two small children. I may possibly have a bit of a court battle to get one of the children out of the UK.

My sister has gone through the point indicator with me and I seem to have 115 point (without a job offer). I have a HND in Business Information Technology and I have 3 years work experience in Information Technology (albeit 5 years old) but I can soon refresh my skills.

I don't have alot of money in the bank but do have a house to sell with about 20k equity in it (thats if the house will sell in the current climate).

Points would be really high if I had a job offer but not sure if I would get one without being present in NZ.

I've half filled the forms in and wondering what in the heck am I doing but nothing ventured nothing gained I guessed.

Would I even get PR approved with only 115 points? I left IT industry 2003 to start family and don't have any proveable experience since that. I could get back out to work in IT industry here though now.

Am I crazy - would anyone else even consider this on their own with children. Materially I have nothing more in this world - than the pennies in my house.

Such big dilema - ahhhhhh!

Caz

what does confuse me in all this is i dont have a degree - i have HND but it seems to be giving me 60 points

as for putting the house on the market - that worries me too

could possibly do the renting it out option but then would need to seriously save some pennies to sort all this
