Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on, but thought I'd give an update of where I'm upto now.

I got in contact with my company's NZ operations a month or so ago and they seem keen on me which is great (but I've still got a long way to go yet!). I've got a telephone interview next week with the managers in Christchurch and I should be meeting them when I go out there again in November. I'm hoping that it won't be as daunting as if it were a completely new company, but I'm certainly not going to be taking any chances! Hopefully it all goes smoothly and they want me!

My current role has me committed till around April with the client - which is fine by me. So hopefully depending on the outcome of the interviews and what the business needs I'll be able to move in April. That time should also let me sort out immigration smoothly as well (famous last words...immigration and smoothly!).

In other news - I'm now a graduate member of the IPENZ which all got finalised last week. Thought it would be best to get that out of the way and also before any interviews to show a commitment to the NZ industry and chartership within NZ.

Hope everyone is doing well and on a lighter note I think I'd best go get another Speights and enjoy the rest of this evening.

Joe

Hi Joe
Hope that all your plans go well
Are you going up on your avatar? Going down or just hanging on? :D
Did you see the climber on 'Land of the Jaguar'? BBC programme about wildlife in Guyana.
The cliff face was so huge they had to spend the night suspended from the cliff face in little hammock tents!!!
Took the smile off the face of the climber on the programme :yes

Hi all, thanks for the response - hopefully it will end good - fingers crossed. Haha tea drinker, I'm coming up there after doing the Nevis Bungy, hence why I'm pretty happy - there's quite a lot of adrenalin going through me! I have seen that 'Land of the Jaguar' - that was one big cliff lol.

I've been planning what I want to do on my November trip to NZ today - plenty of walking is on the cards! The first week or so I'm staying round Christchurch though to sort out the transfer (if all is still going ok with that!) and check out housing in more detail.

Just wondering if anyone has gone through anything similar with transferring with their current company to NZ and has any tips?

Thanks

I've just got off the phone to the Christchurch office, and things are moving along now which is great news (not there yet though) so I should be chatting to the managers again before I go out in November and I should be meeting them there for more talk of the move. So fingers crossed I'll be sorting out immigration after then! :clap

Oh and btw - it's beautiful blue skies in Christchurch and snow on the hills. Rainy Manchester just can't compete!

Take care all.
