Is it worth buying a double fronted fridge freezer in UK before we come out?
How expensive are they in NZ?

Here are the websites where you can find most of the appliances. Just do the math with the exchange rate.

I've heard that kitchens in NZ don't usually have the space left for one - however that won't matter if you put in a new kitchen.
I'm just hoping my tall F/F is going to fit.

A lot of kitchens only have a gap for a standard fridge. So if you rent first in a modern house, you will have to place a double door f/f outside of the kitchen normally. We brought ours and had it in the dining area when we had a rental. As soon as we bought, there was space for it in the kitchen, so we have been lucky.
I would not personally buy new and bring it out due to warranty issues. Also filters are not available worldwide and we have to get them shipped from the UK for our LG model.

Yeah we looked at this and many models are not the same here or available so decided to leave it for now due to the afrementioned warranty and possible repair issues.
Get where you are coming from though Woody, we would love one too though.

I have been looking a currys they have an on line auction for used stock ex display etc. I suppose if i got one cheap enough it would be worth it.
