Hi everyone

We have just been selected for EOI with no job offer (still waiting for ITA) but hopefully it will be successful (fingers crossed).

Anyway, we thought we'd start the job search and I know all the usual job websites (like Seek and Trade me etc) but I was just wondering if anyone had any leads for me or some specialist job websites specifically for Green jobs. I am in Environmental Management in the manufacturing sector (ISO 14001, Environmental management systems & auditing).

I would appreciate any pointers in the right direction.

Have you tried looking at the DHB (District Health Board) websites?? They might have something.....

There is the Ministry for the Environment (http://www.mfe.govt.nz/about/jobs/) - though probably more helpful if you are intending to settle in Wellington I guess, and they don't seem to have a huge heap of jobs available right now but I would still my cv if I were interested in working for them. :)

Do you know if your line of work will be much affected by needing to know about the Resource Management Act?

Or if you had an idea on where you wanted to move to check out individual council websites too?

Good luck

It could be worth contacting large manufacturing companies like Fonterra who would manage environmental impacts from their operations.

Thanks, all very useful leads - will definitely have to get some internet surfing in tonight. Appreciate it.

Resource management act, yes, probably would help. I have seen a few jobs advertised that ask for knowledge of this.

As yet, we don't have any preference for where we will settle as we thought we would just wait to see where the jobs are - but Wellington is probably preferred.

Fonterra sounds like a good lead as I'm in manufacturing right now and that's pretty much exactly what I do - ie minimize environmental impact/pollution control etc

Great - lots to get busy with!
