Hello,

This is my first time on the forum, I think it's great that so many people can share their experiences and make the right choice, hopefully live and work in New Zealand.
Me and my better half and our 2 young children are planning to go to NZ later this year, following a visit to NZ about 12 months ago.
We plan to go over once the house is sold.I have been reading other posts and it seems that a lot of people seem to be in the same boat regarding selling their houses. Hopefully things will improve soon.

Welcome to the forum Bakehouse :clap

Yes it is very informative and friendly place to be. I am in a similar situation to most in that I have 2 young children and want to leave behind family and friends in UK and move an awful long way away. After a lot of messing around and losing my first EOI from the website (?!!) I have finally submitted my form this weekend. Had a few e-mails from EOI staff in NZ saying payment now received fine because of a few difficulties so now hoping for a positive outcome. :hopeso

So enjoy your time here!!

Hi Timbo,

We are thinking of heading for Tauranga, combination of good schools,Jobs and great lifestyle.
As for the situation so far, My wife was a residential social worker up until our first child was born(now aged 7)but she works as a teacher's aid (part-time).Last year she had her qualifications assessed by nzqa and they have recognised them but only to level 4 and you need level 5 for the 50 points in social work but we have been told that as long as she gets a job offer them we can apply for pr. I have been in the coatings industry for about 15 years (sales manager)and on our first visit was offered a job but I have'nt the qualifications to apply myself for pr.
It has been a frustrating time but we have decided to take the chance and go for it, you only get one go at life so make the most of it.
Hello to StevieD good luck for ypor application. Hi also to Diny.

There seems to be quite a few heading to that corner of the country ..... we'll be in the Coromandel ourselves - not quite neighbours but not a million miles off.
