By the way, I just summed up my points and it adds up to just 90, having no job offer and my degree not being in IT so I cannot claim up the bonus points (my degree is in Engineering).

30: Age 20-29
50: Level 7 Qualification
10: Work Experience

What are the options that I can consider in pursuing my NZ dream?

You can see about getting a Working Holiday Visa. (From the US) it gives you 1 year to work and live in NZ. So as soon as you get to NZ and get settled in a job you can submit an EOI and you will have more points.

Unfortunately, the WHV is not offered from my country of origin. So i guess I just have one option left, which is to go on a reccy trip.
