Hi,

When is the next selection?

Just wanted to know what are the chances of been selected from the pool if you are at 110 points? No job offer or bonus points.

I saw the last selection was at 115!!! When was the last time it was 110 points??

Thanks

Mari

On the one hand I hope it doesn't happen at 110. I've got 110 points with no job offer / bonus points and I'm waiting for my wife's qualifications to be assessed to get the extra 20 points.

If I look at the NZIS website and see one week the selection drop to 110 and I haven't put my EOI in I'll be gutted!

But good luck anyway. Perhaps someone on the forum can remember it dipping that low before, though I haven't seen it in the past year or so.

Hi Mari

Can't help with the 110 points question but this was updated on the immi website and will give you an idea of times/dates/selections etc.

I'm assuming you're applying under the SMC? Selections take place fortnightly so the next one should be 27th.

Hi Mary,

I submitted my EOI with 110 points (no job offer) on last June 16th, and it got selected on June 18th (Yes, two days after). Do you really think there is a lower margin for the selection? That's something I didn't know. From where did you got those information?

My signature says it all..

Beetle, you say you got selected with 110 points.

Please tell me that was without a job offer - but with bonus points from work experience perhaps? I've looked through the SMC selections and can't find any selection that has a points threshold below 115 recently unless it has bonus points. On the mid June selection (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/exeres/27BF6544-EBF7-4D0C-8C99-C56044C0EF67.htm) it was 120 with no job offer or bonus points.

Yes, I had bonus points. So, as you said, that should be the reason why my EOI got selected with 110 points.

Hi

if you look at some of my earlier postings you will see me going from 200+ points to 105 within days and the ensuing stress that caused. I had calculated my points only to have it done by our agent who said i had over estimated some things (didn't realise they only counted intention to settle outside aukland etc if you actually had a job and husbands hnd wasn't recognised and finally couldn't count nurse registration and nursing degree-one or the other not both!). So, feeling like crying our agent said not to worry and recommended she submitted our EOI with only 105 points. i really thought i was wasting my time, but felt i had to trust the experience of our agent and i was paying her for that after all!!

it was submitted one day and that evening it was selected with 105 points and NO job offer! my agent was all "i told you so" and I was lost for words and ecstatic!

so, the moral of this story is, YES you can be selected with 110 points or even 105 in my case! our agent said that at certain times the immigration service has to meet a quota of immigrants and if they are not near their target they will reduce their threshold to get their figures right. we seem to have been in the right pool and the right time and i cannot thank my agent enough for her insider knowledge as i would never have thought about submitting at that stage.

good luck with your application and I know the name of a good agent if you want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:raebanana
