How long does it take to do the medical and get a decision?

How much does it cost?

I've got a stable kidney transplant, and also I'm an amputee. I will obviously declare both of these on my medical, however I am thinking that I may have to pay privately for the care of my prosthesis.


This is my major concern about emmigrating to NZ.

Well I've got no medical past problems so the whole process only took 10 minutes: Height, weight, waist measurement, eyesight test, dip stick a wee sample, quick tummy prod and 3 blood samples and then a little bit of form filling regarding my health and that of family members (no problems on that side either). On top of that I had an x-ray too, but that was done at another hospital. My Dr took roughly a week to return the results as he's basically waiting for the blood results.

Costs vary wildly from Dr to Dr. Mine was roughly £340
