We have been here for just over a year, hailing from Glasgow in Scotland.
We came here for work and brought our cat with us.

So far for us, it has been awesome, we have experienced the same issues as everyone else in terms of the housing etc, however we have found that the lifestyle makes up for it. We love how sociable NZ'ers are and the weather has been really kind to us, I am saying this after a solid month of rain, but its still better than Glasgow.

Right in the middle of applying for PR and reckon its all ticking along nicely so fingers crossed please!!

I think the hardest thing is how far away your family are, I was just back for a visit, hated saying goodbye to everyone but I was also ready to come back. Maybe for me, NZ is becoming home?

Nice to see fellow Scots/northerners on the forum. What do you guys do and where do you stay in Auckland? We're from Edinburgh/Northumberland/Cambridge, just been here a few weeks and enjoying it. Never thought I'd live somewhere wetter than Glasgee though.

I work for a conservation charity in the UK via the internet at the moment but I'm about to start job hunting for a climate change /sustainability position here. My OH is a doctor in Manakua. He worked in Ayr for a while and we lived in Shawlands for a few months.

We're thinking about moving out to your area in the summer. How are you finding it?
