Yes, you have to send your docs to NZQA.

If your qualification/university is not on LORQ, you can get a PAR from NZQA for EOI only. If your EOI is selected and when you get your ITA, you have to get a full NZQA certification anyway. So you might be better off taking the full NZQA certification before hand.

Hi mehroze

The full assesment costs a lot more than the pre-assesment and usually takes a lot longer. Pre-assesment is usually about two week where full assessment can take two to three months or longer.

If you are in a hurry, then do the pre-assesment first. Or if you are unsure how NZQA will rate your qualifications and you do not want to risk paying the full amount and then get a shock if they do not rate it the same level you execepted, then also do the pre-assesment first. Otherwise, if you think they will rate it a good level and you are not in a hurry, then the full assesment directly is the way to go.

Off course you can also submit you EOI without NZQA assesment, and in the meantime apply for NZQA assesment at the same time. By the time your case officer makes first contact about two months after your EOI was selected, then at least your NZQA assesment should be almost done as well. That way you could save yourself a bit of time.

Another piece of advise. It is very likely you will be asked to write an IELTS test as well. The waiting list for IELTS bookings is very long in most countries. You can save yourself some time by booking that at the same time as submitting your EOI.

as i mentioned above that my country in not in the LORQ so in this case can i apply for EOI on my own assesment of qualification or have to do the PAR first.

about IELTS i am not sure i have seen an option in EOI if your medium of study is in english you dont need to do an IELTS is this the case? or have to do it any case.

If this is then selected, and you get an ITA, then at that point they will demand proof of whatever is on your EOI.

Although they do state that if you can prove your education was completed in English you don't have to provide IELTS results, you may have to provide them anyway.

I've read a couple of appeals online about people having to provide IELTS results even though they completed their study in English.

You can have a look here http://www.residencereviewboard.govt.nz/srchres.aspx
and search for IELTS

Ok, I am going to make it really simple for you . If you want to get into NZ as an immigrant:

1. Get a full assessment of your qualifications done from NZQA
2. Take the IELTS test.

There are no ifs and buts, just do it. It'll cost you for sure, but if you want to move to NZ, there's a price you pay, nothing comes free.

Nanskris, are you a teacher by any chance? ;) (just kidding)

On a more serious note, I agree with Nanskris and BeanBeanz. If you studied a country where English is not the native language, then it is almost guaranteed they will ask for IELTS even though you can prove your education was done in English. And since most people wait up to 6 months for an IELTS exam booking, it is not something you want to leave until the last minute and only then find out it is a pre-requisite.

ROTFL :laugh no, I am not, but it is pretty frustrating to repeat something so simple over and over again. Guess my kids are going to have a tough time with me :uhoh

Not quite, I (from the Netherlands) had an education entirely in English and I didn't have to do the IELTS. I did study English at the university though.
