After spending our honeymoon in NZ two years ago, followed by another holiday last year (just to check it was as good as we first thought) we have just shipped all our belongings over and we are landing in Wellington at the start of October. The various forums have been really helpful so a big thanks to everyone for taking the time to post on them. We are really lucky that we have great kiwi friends who have been in the UK for the last 5 years and are returning to Wellington early next year, but saying that its still pretty scary.... We were succcesful with a long term business visa application rather than finding jobs, which is going to make the whole thing even more interesting when we get out there!

Welcome guys - my family are all in West Sussex, too.

So what type of business will you be running?

Fingers crossed we will be selling costumes, outfits and accessories for hen and stag groups (plus sports events etc) via a website which has some decidedly dodgy looking models on it - me and the mrs!

cheers

Sorry, but it's against forum rules to mention dodgy photographs without a link to them.... :yes

Welcome to the forum.

I hail from West Sussex originally (Copthorne to be specific) and I'm heading to Wellington next week. Yikes! that sounds scary!

Hey fellow Copthornians (or Yellow Bellies as we were traditionally called) - whereabouts did you live? Sadly the beautiful old house I grew up in got knocked down and turned into apartments, but I lived in Copthorne Common Road, near the golf course.

We lived in Newlands Park (almost opposite the Copthorne Effingham). Small world hey?? I only lived there for the past 5 years but Michael was there for a long, long time!

Those damn honeymoons! That's what sold me! OH lived in Welly for a year before hand and "suckered" me into going for the honeymoon...ok he didn't really sucker me into it...I wanted to go because he talked about it soo much... I had to see for myself!
