I am super excited but equally nervous! I received a faxed copy of my job offer for massage therapy in Queenstown, still waiting for the originals in the mail so that I can file it with my work visa app. My nervousness comes in at the thought of me not getting my passport back in time before I have to leave.:wah It takes approx 4 weeks to process that visa in Washington DC and my plane is leaving in 6 weeks, that leaves the visa about 5.5 weeks.:eek:

I should be able to overnight the appl. by this coming wednesday...but its so scary that I may have to postpone my trip if they take longer.:eek:

Has anyone else gone through something similar?

And if for some reason I don't get my work visa, would they grant me a 6 month visitor visa (my ticket is for 6 months)...or would they deny me that too since they now would know that I want to work there?

I would send a copy of the fax with your app and send it in-

If they need to they can check with the company. In anycase- our visas had a fast turnaround (3 weeks or so) (would have been faster if I had filled out the info on the return envelope correctly), but I have a student visa and am supporting my husband's work visa.

I would have sent in the faxed copy but I called the embassy and they said they need the originals...so I rather send that with everything instead of having it get delayed bc I don't have the required paperwork. Hope mine will be like 3 weeks! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
