Hi All :cool

For those lucky folks travelling to NZ, I thought I’d pass along a couple of websites that might make your trip a little more pleasant.

If you haven’t purchased your tickets and you’re flying from the United States, check with this travel agency in Seattle...

They buy block tickets on Air New Zealand and often have very good fares...but you have to travel during set times. If that works for you, it can save a lot of $$$ :yes

One-way fares are almost always more expensive than RT. We bought RT tix and just never used the return portion. No one showed up at our door demanding we leave. :laugh

And if you have a choice between Air New Zealand, Qantas or United, pick ANZ...they have more leg room (and better service) :nice1

Here are a couple of websites that offer info on the best seats to reserve on specific jets...

http://www.seatexpert.com/ (They list ANZ jets)

http://www.seatguru.com/

http://www.airlinequality.com/Product/seat_intro.htm

And here's a nice little site that offers info on international travel...

http://www.geocities.com/travelwithyour/seats.html

Have a great trip! :cheers

If travelling from the UK I can recommend Emirates.
Much better service than ANZ and you don't have the problems of going through immigration in LA. Leg room is supposedly less than ANZ but I didn't really notice the difference as I'm not that tall (5'11").

Quantas has some very good prices on direct flights from LAX to Auckland at the moment. I just got some RT tickets for 750. You have to book direct from the Quantas website.

Has anyone used Malaysian before - we've booked with them for November. Stop over in Kuala Lumpar. Cheaper than ANZ and couldn't bear the herding into the small room in LA under the watchful eye of "miserable guard with a gun" which we experienced last time.

Air NZ doesn't half lose some business by going through LA. I know they lost ours. Wish they would change the route as with Pete being tall he would appreciate the extra leg room.

Malaysian Airlines are also good Hannah - I used them alot when working in Kuala Lumpar :nice1 I can't remember legroom etc but the service was great and inflight entertainment was too.

I rate Singapore Airlines very highly too.

If you have flown Singapore Airlines, you will find Malaysia Airlines similar in terms of seat pitch, entertainment and service quality.

Inevitably you will need a stop over in Kuala Lumpur on the way to Auckland. KLIA (the international airport) is nothing like Singapore's Changi in terms of wondering about.

If you just plan to rest and lie back for a while, the KL airport is not too bad but if you plan to kill time by walking around and window shopping, you will be dissapointed.
