Looking at getting Sky when in NZ. I note the HD option has a nice box, probably with digital outputs.

Does anyone know what the standard box has in terms of outputs - keen to know how I will be connecting it to my home theater system.

Thanks.

There are several different Sky boxes that you get depending on your level of service etc.

There are the PVRs i.e. new MySky HDi, the slightly older MySky.

There are also analog and digital decoders available, I assume that you are talking about the digital STB? Even then there are Pace and Motorola versions, all of which have slightly different outputs.

Unfortunately I don't have the standard box anymore so can't check the outputs for you, but it certainly had SCART which you can then use an adapter to get the audio channels.

For the MySky HDi you can check out Sky Manuals (http://www.skytv.co.nz/manuals.aspx) for details of the connectors.

HTH just a little?

The standard box has Scart and RF.

We use a Scart to phono lead to connect to our theatre system.

Thanks. Seems the standard box is similar to the standard box here in Ireland / UK.

Ill look at the SkyHD / PVR type boxes - even at a slightly higher cost - not to get HD specifically but perhaps something like SkyPlus thats here .... I assume the PVR options there are similar?

MySky is very similar beast to Sky+ in the UK.
