Anyone arrived well after container?

It looks as if our container is going to arrive (in Auckland) a long time before us. We now have to fill in another 7 page declaration to be witnessed by a JP and nominate a family member, pay a bond, send all our passports and look at storage charges. Anybody been there? Any tips would be gratefully accepted. Thank you:laugh

Actually my husband did sleep in the bath for the last couple of nights!! Now we're staying with my mum. Can't get to NZ yet you see and it seems as though this is going to be problematic!
Thanks anyway

No advice I'm afraid, but I can imagine it being problematic. My hubby came out here earlier than I did. I sorted out the container stuff from the UK end and the fact that he was already in NZ wasn't a problem, even when I explained that the container would probably arrive before I did. Until the darned thing arrived in early, almost 3 weeks before me. Suddenly I was racing around getting people to verify copies of my (and my children's!) passports and faxing them across, and dealing with what seemed like a whole load of unnecessary grief.......and that was with hubby, who after all is part owner of all that stuff, and who knew that I just wasn't going to sneak illicit contraband in there, and therefore willing to take full responsibility for it all.
So how you stand with no owner of the container around I have no idea. I'm sure it can be worked out somehow though.....no doubt with a lot of paperwork, red tape and stress though. Good luck with it, I hope it proves to be loads easier than it sounds.
